I am a PeriOperative Registered Nurse with 43
years experience in all aspects of the PeriOperative arena. Which include staff,
nursing education and management.
In addition I directed major construction
projects, taught IV therapy and PeriOperative
nursing.
I manage and direct several departments, such as
the Operating room, the Post Anesthesia Care
Unit (PACU), the Ambulatory Care Department,
which includes Endoscopy department, the Cardiac
Cath Lab and Central Supply Department (CSR).
I am a member of my professional organization
AORN for 20 years and I am certified in
PeriOperative nursing, Advance Cardiac Life
Support and Basic Life support.
For the past 13 years I function in the
management role supervise, educate, evaluate
nursing staff in all areas mentioned.
I am familiar with nursing standards,
competencies, orientation programs and more.
I published several articles in PeriOperative
Nursing Quarterly, The Nursing Spectrum and the
AORN Leadership specialty Assembly newsletter.
In addition I was the recipient of the AORN
award for "Outstanding Achievement in
PeriOperative Nursing Management" and President
of AORN Mass chapter 1, Boston Massachusetts.

Responsible for the operation, budget, marketing, education,
competencies and development of the PeriOperative services

Implementation of Computerized documentation, Block
Scheduling, Preference cards and many cost reduction
initiatives resulting in saving of over a $1,250,000.00 in 3
years. Managed human resources, which resulted in full staff

Responsible for daily operation of a 10 Operating Room
Suite, performing about 6,800 surgical procedures per year
and an Endoscopy unit.

Assistants, Anesthesia Tech's, Endoscopy Tech's and
Instrument Tech's. Management duties include continuous
hiring, terminating, educating, competencies and evaluation
of staff.
